Community Guidelines
RecipeReel is a kitchen, not a comments section. People come here to share what they cooked and to cook what others shared. Be generous, be honest about your food, and be kind about other people’s.
Share food you actually made
Post your own photos and your own words. If a recipe comes from a book, a website or a friend, say so and add what you changed — do not paste someone else’s text or pictures as yours. Photos that are AI-generated or stock images presented as your dish are not allowed.
Be safe in the kitchen
Do not present unsafe practices as safe: home canning without proper process, undercooked poultry, raw-milk claims, foraging advice you have not verified, “cures” for illnesses. Warn about allergens when you know them. Content that promotes extreme restriction, purging or eating disorders is removed.
Be kind in the comments
Critique the dish, never the person. No insults, slurs, harassment, threats or targeting someone because of who they are (ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality, age, and so on). Do not post other people’s private information. If a conversation turns sour, block and report rather than escalate.
Keep it appropriate
This is an app for everyone aged 16 and up. No nudity, sexual content or graphic violence — including in profile photos and usernames.
No spam or manipulation
No unsolicited promotion, affiliate dumping, follow-for-follow schemes, fake accounts, bought likes, or repeated identical comments. If you run a food business you may say so on your profile; you may not turn other people’s recipes into ads.
Messages
You can message people who follow you back; others first receive a request they can accept or decline. Do not use messages to harass, to sell, or to move someone to another platform against their will. Unwanted messages can be reported like anything else.
How enforcement works
Every recipe, comment, profile and message has a Report option, and you can email abuse@recipereel.app. Reports are reviewed by a person. Depending on what happened we may remove the content, limit the account, suspend it for a time or ban it; we always tell the person what we did and why, and they can appeal. Illegal content involving minors is reported to the authorities. The full rules are in the Terms of Service.
