Terms of Service
The short version. You must be 16 or older. What you post stays yours; you give us the permission we need to show it to other users. Do not post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, dangerous or that you do not have the right to share. We may remove content and close accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why. We provide the app as it is, without warranties, and our liability is limited as far as the law allows.

1. Who we are and who can use RecipeReel
RecipeReel (the “Service”) is operated by [FULL LEGAL NAME], [POSTAL ADDRESS], Romania (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 16 years old. You must not have been previously banned from the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have their authority.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your email address current — we use it for security notices and to help you recover your account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone or use a username that misleads people about who you are.
- You can see and log out your active sessions, change your email and password, and delete your account from Settings.
3. Your content and our licence
You own what you post — recipes, photos, text, comments and messages (“Content”). We claim no ownership of it.
The licence you give us. So that the Service can work, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize and re-encode, display and distribute your Content to other users of the Service, and to make it available in feeds, search results and notifications, as directed by your settings. This licence exists only to operate and improve the Service, ends when you delete the Content or your account (subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy, and except where your Content has been re-shared by others within the Service, for example a recipe sent in a message), and never allows us to sell your Content or use it in advertising.
The licence you give other users. Recipes you publish may be viewed, saved to collections, and have their ingredients copied to grocery lists by other users for personal, non-commercial use. This does not allow them to republish your photos or text elsewhere.
Your promises about Content. You confirm that you have the right to post it (it is your own, or you have permission), that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that it complies with section 4.
Feedback you send us about the Service may be used freely, without obligation to you.
4. What is not allowed
The Community Guidelines explain how we expect people to behave and are part of these Terms. In particular you must not post or do anything that:
- is illegal, or promotes, instructs or glorifies illegal acts, violence, self-harm or terrorism;
- is sexual or pornographic, or sexualises minors in any way (this is reported to the authorities);
- harasses, threatens, bullies, doxxes or discriminates against anyone, or is hate speech;
- infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights — including posting recipes, photos or text copied from others without permission;
- is dangerous if followed, for example unsafe food preservation or preparation presented as safe, or content promoting eating disorders;
- is spam, scams, unsolicited advertising, or manipulates likes, follows or comments with fake or automated accounts;
- contains malware, attempts to access other accounts or our systems without authorisation, scrapes the Service, circumvents rate limits or security measures, or interferes with its operation;
- collects other users’ personal data without their consent;
- impersonates a person or organisation.
5. Reports, moderation and appeals
Reporting. Every recipe, comment, profile and message has a Report option. You can also write to abuse@recipereel.app. We review reports of illegal content promptly and in the order received; obviously urgent matters (danger to a person, child safety) first.
What we may do. Where content or behaviour breaks these Terms or the law, we may remove or hide the content, limit what the account can do, suspend the account for a period, or ban it permanently. We choose the least severe measure that addresses the problem, and we consider the context and whether it happened before.
Statement of reasons. When we remove your content or restrict your account, we send you a notice to your email address stating what we did, which content or behaviour it concerns, which rule of these Terms or which law it breached, whether a report or our own review triggered it, and how you can appeal. We do not send this notice where the law prohibits it or where doing so would frustrate an investigation of serious crime.
Appeals. You may appeal any moderation decision within six months by replying to the notice or writing to abuse@recipereel.app. Appeals are reviewed by a person, not automatically, and we answer within a reasonable time. If you are in the EU you may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the Digital Services Act; we will tell you which bodies are available when we answer your appeal.
Misuse of reporting. Repeatedly filing reports that are manifestly unfounded may itself lead to restrictions, after a warning.
6. Copyright complaints
If you believe Content on RecipeReel infringes your copyright, email abuse@recipereel.app with: a link to or description of the Content; a description of the work you own; your name, address and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We remove infringing Content promptly and notify the poster, who may send a counter-notice. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are banned.
7. Ending your account
By you. Delete your account in Settings at any time, or from this page. Deletion becomes final after a 14-day grace period during which you can cancel by logging in.
By us. We may suspend or ban an account for breaches of these Terms as described in section 5, or close accounts that are required by law to be closed. If we close the Service altogether we will give at least 30 days’ notice and the opportunity to export your Content.
Sections 3 (licence, for Content already shared), 9 and 10 continue to apply after your account ends.
8. The Service, changes and availability
We may add, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice for changes that materially reduce what you can do. The Service depends on third parties (app stores, hosting, email and push delivery) and on the internet; it may be unavailable at times, and we do not promise uninterrupted access. Recipes and cooking instructions are provided by users: use your own judgement about food safety, allergies and dietary needs — we do not verify them.
9. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or losses arising from other users’ Content or conduct, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to €100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you are a consumer in the European Union you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Before going to court, please write to us — most problems are quicker to solve by email.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Each version carries a date at the top. For material changes we will ask you to accept the new version in the app before continuing; if you do not accept, you may stop using the Service and delete your account. Minor clarifications are published here without a new acceptance.
